Gli avverbi: not even, not either (neanche)

Abbiamo imparato a dire "anche"... Ora possiamo imparare a dire "neanche"...

Gli avverbi: neanche

Per dire neanche (contrario di anche) usiamo il verbo alla forma negativa + either alla fine della frase:

NOT + EITHER (neanche)
- I'm not a tidy person. - I'm not tidy either. (= Io non sono ordinato anche)	- Non sono una persona ordinata. - Non sono ordinato neanche io.
- Dad doesn't have yesterday's newspaper. - Mum doesn't have it either.	- Papà non ce l'ha il giornale di ieri. - Non ce l'ha neanche mamma.
- I don't like maths. - I don't like it either.	- Non mi piace la matematica. - Non piace neanche a me.

Ricorda che neanche (contrario di persino) si traduce con il verbo alla forma negativa + even (Lezione 98):

NOT + EVEN (neanche, nemmeno, neppure)
- Usually there are a lot of trolleys by the entrance. Today there's not even one!	- Solitamente ci sono tanti carrelli vicino all'entrata. Oggi non ce n'è neanche uno!
- She doesn't like him. She doesn't even remember his name.	- Lui non le piace. Non si ricorda nemmeno come si chiama.

Ricorda che either si usa anche per dire l'uno o l'altro (nelle frasi positive) o nessuno dei due (nelle frasi negative, Lezione 89):

EITHER (l'uno o l'altro / nessuno dei due)
- You are allowed to park on either side of the road.	- Si può/Puoi parcheggiare su entrambi (l'uno o l'altro) i lati della strada.
- I've got two calculators, but I can't find either of them.	- Ho due calcolatrici ma non riesco a trovare nessuna delle due.

Ricorda infine che either... or si usa nelle alternative positive (Lezione 139):

EITHER... OR (o... o)
- What's the dialling code for Germany? - It's either +49 or +48. I can't remember.	- Qual è il prefisso telefonico per la Germania? - È o +49 o +48. Non mi ricordo.
