Le congiunzioni: even if/even though (anche se)

We know "if", we know "even" and we know "though". What do we get if we put them all together?

Le congiunzioni: anche se

Possiamo dire anche se in due modi. Osserva la differenza:

EVEN IF (anche se = anche nel caso in cui)	EVEN THOUGH (anche se = nonostante)
- She wants to go for a run even if it rains. - Vuole andare a correre anche se piove. (= in ogni caso, anche se dovesse piovere)	- She wants to buy a car, even though she can't drive. - Vuole comprarsi una macchina, anche se non sa guidare. (= nonostante non sappia guidare)
- I feel tired even if I go to bed early. - Mi sento stanco anche se vado a letto presto. (= Mi sento stanco anche quando vado a letto presto/che vada a letto presto o meno)	- I feel tired even though I go to bed early. - Mi sento stanco anche se vado a letto presto. (= Mi sento stanco nonostante vada a letto presto)
- Daniel always drives with the window open, even if it's cold. - Daniel guida sempre col finestrino aperto, anche se fa freddo. (= anche quando fa freddo/in ogni caso)	- Daniel wants to open the window even though it's cold. - Daniel vuole aprire il finestrino anche se fa freddo. (= nonostante faccia freddo in questo momento)

Negli esercizi useremo un suggerimento quando non si capisce se dobbiamo usare even if o even though:

- Nonna vuole lasciare l'ospedale, anche se non può ancora camminare.	- Grandma wants to leave the hospital, even if she can't walk yet.
- Nonna vuole lasciare l'ospedale, anche se (nonostante) non può ancora camminare.	- Grandma wants to leave the hospital, even though she can't walk yet.
