non è un nome plurale, anche se
può avere un significato plurale, per questo
si usa con il verbo al singolare.
Non possiamo dire: the news are...
Dobbiamo dire: the news is....
Alcuni esempi:
The news is that Mark is engaged = La notizia
è che Mark è fidanzato.
Is it good news? = È una buona notizia?/Sono
buone notizie?/Buone notizie?
I've got some good news for you! = Ho
delle buone notizie per te!
Is there any news? = Ci sono notizie?
Non possiamo dire:
Ho una buona notizia per te. =
I've got a good new for you o I've got a good news for you
Questa è una notizia interessante. =
This is an interesting new o This is an interesting news
Le notizie sono interessanti. = the news are
